A maze of alleys intersect in the town of Stone Town of Zanzibar, the 'stone city', which is the oldest part of the city. There are many buildings of great interest around which are mixed styles: Moorish and Arab houses, including the Palace of Wonders and the Arab Fort, as well as mosques and colonial buildings. Stone Town has always been the economic center of Zanzibar, previously a fundamental stage for the spice trade, and was once known for the slave trade. Stone Town is also characterized by its entertainment and bazaars where you can find local products. Thanks to its beauty and its historical richness, Stone Town has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
